We recently moved into our home and are still in the process of setting up systems and getting organized. One of us works from home, while the other focuses on home life as we prepare for the arrival of our second child. We enjoy engaging in developmental activities with our toddler, and we embrace a Montessori-style approach to learning at home.As a family, we prioritize spending quality time together and enjoy creating a peaceful, organized environment. Who You AreYou are an experienced and engaging professional with a strong background in infant and toddler care, as well as household management and meal prep. You are confident and capable with newborns and enjoy being an active participant in a child's developmental journey. You understand that raising a child and managing a household is a team effort, and you're ready to be a supportive sidekick, working through challenges and projects together with the family. Whether it's calmly engaging with a toddler during a meltdown, planning and preparing meals, or organizing household tasks, you bring a proactive, hands-on approach to your role.In addition to your childcare skills, you are comfortable in the kitchen, planning and preparing whole foods-focused meals. You make good use of your time by staying engaged and actively looking for ways to contribute, whether it's organizing, running errands, or tackling small household projects. You are focused and attentive, with a strong sense of initiative, and you take pride in starting tasks without needing to be asked-always with the goal of keeping things running smoothly. You understand the importance of professional boundaries and are respectful of the family's need for quiet, low-key time together, while also being warm and approachable.You thrive in a collaborative environment, where your contributions help create a calm, organized, and nurturing atmosphere. You are proactive, detail-oriented, and reliable, bringing energy and focus to your work, while maintaining a balanced and thoughtful presence in the home.Key ResponsibilitiesFamily Support & Child AssistanceShare childcare responsibility for a toddler, with a focus on Montessori-style learning and gentle parenting Assist with baby care after newborn arrives (June) Occasional pick-ups/drop-offs/playground outings Prep clothing/snacks Occasional errands related to child care (e.g., picking up supplies). Meal Planning & PrepCollaborate weekly with the family on meal planning Source creative, healthy pescatarian recipes Build grocery lists from the weekly plan Batch cook and prepare fresh, whole-food pescatarian snacks and meals (5 toddler lunches + 5 dinners/week, starting with toddler and expanding to family meals) Clean and maintain an organized kitchen after meal preparation Household Management & OrganizationDaily resets and prep for bi-weekly cleaners (dishes, surfaces, high-traffic areas) Create and/or maintain household organization systems Seasonal clothing swaps, including children's sizes and hand-me-downs Prepare and coordinate donation drop-offs Packing/unpacking for travel Change batteries, light bulbs, smoke detectors, water filters etc. as needed Occasional deep cleans (fridge, oven, baseboards, etc.) and special/organizational projects as time allows Water outdoor plants as needed Inventory & ErrandsMaintain awareness of household supply lists - communicate restocking needs to family Run errands as needed (returns, essential shopping, picking up supplies) Laundry & Linen CareWash/fold/organize laundry for the family Maintain tidy and well stocked laundry areas Administrative & Personal Assistant SupportMaintain awareness of family calendar Perform administrative tasks, such as making customer support phone calls (utilities, insurance, product support, etc.) Calendar management (including household schedules) How to ApplyTo apply, please submit the following:A brief letter explaining why you'd be a great fit for this position Your updated resume Three professional references with contact information Note: This role requires a background check.Disclaimer: When you apply to Sage Haus, you'll also be added to our candidate community email list so we can share hiring updates, resources and opportunities.
