This Grants Accounting Specialist role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with restricted funds, government contracts, and compliance-driven accounting while partnering closely with internal teams. The Grants Accounting Specialist will play a key role in ensuring funds are tracked accurately and reported properly.This Grants Accounting Specialist position offers hands-on responsibility, cross-functional exposure, and the chance to build deep expertise in nonprofit grant accounting within a supportive finance team. If you are detail-oriented, organized, and motivated by purpose-driven work, this Grants Accounting Specialist opportunity may be a strong fit.Key ResponsibilitiesAs a Grants Accounting Specialist, you will:Manage accounting and compliance for government contracts and donor-funded grants, including invoicing, reconciliations, and reportingReview grant and contract documentation to ensure adherence to federal, state, and donor requirementsMonitor active grants and contracts, maintaining accurate tracking, schedules, and supporting documentationSupport audit readiness efforts, including SEFA reporting and coordination of compliance materialsAccounts Receivable & General AccountingThe Grants Accounting Specialist will also:Process contributions and accounts receivable with accuracy and proper revenue classificationRespond to inquiries related to invoices, payments, and account activityAssist with month-end close activities such as journal entries, reconciliations, and roll forwardsHelp maintain the accuracy of general ledger data across revenue streams, payroll, and restricted fundsPreferred QualificationsBachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related fieldExperience with grant, contract, or nonprofit accountingFamiliarity with government funding and compliance requirementsStrong attention to detail with excellent organizational skillsAbility to work collaboratively with finance and non-finance colleaguesClear written and verbal communication skillsThis Grants Accounting Specialist role provides stability, responsibility, and the opportunity to contribute to work that matters-all while strengthening your accounting career.Timing is everything.
