Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Assessor to join our dynamic behavioral health team. In this vital role, you will conduct comprehensive assessments of individuals across diverse settings, including outpatient clinics, inpatient facilities, and telehealth platforms. Your expertise will help inform personalized treatment plans, support case management, and ensure accurate diagnostic evaluations. Duties
Perform detailed clinical assessments and diagnostic evaluations utilizing ICD-9 and ICD-10 coding systems to accurately identify mental health conditions and disabilities.
Conduct intake interviews to gather comprehensive patient histories, including medical terminology and behavioral health backgrounds.
Utilize a broad range of therapeutic techniques such as psychotherapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, psychodynamic therapy, art therapy, dance therapy, and applied behavior analysis to develop tailored treatment strategies.
Implement crisis intervention and crisis management protocols to support individuals experiencing acute mental health or behavioral crises.
Provide individual and group counseling sessions addressing issues such as grief, addiction, PTSD, gender identity, developmental disabilities, autism spectrum disorders, and chronic pain management.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams on case management efforts, ensuring seamless coordination of patient care across outpatient, inpatient, and telehealth settings.
Maintain meticulous medical records and documentation compliant with HIPAA regulations while utilizing medical records systems and medical documentation standards.
Engage in clinical research initiatives to improve assessment techniques and treatment outcomes while collecting relevant data for continuous quality improvement.
Requirements
Proven experience in mental health assessment, clinical counseling, or behavioral health roles with familiarity in ICD-9/ICD-10 coding systems.
Strong background in psychotherapy modalities such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), psychodynamic therapy, addiction counseling, grief counseling, and trauma-informed care including PTSD care.
Experience working with children, adolescents, adults, geriatrics or individuals with developmental disabilities or autism spectrum disorders is highly desirable.
Knowledge of crisis intervention strategies and crisis management protocols for urgent mental health situations.
Familiarity with telehealth platforms and delivering services via telehealth experience is preferred.
Ability to perform patient assessments using diagnostic tools like ICD coding and conduct intake evaluations effectively.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams including social workers and special education professionals.
Knowledge of medical terminology related to behavioral health and experience documenting in compliance with HIPAA standards.
Demonstrated ability to manage complex cases involving mental health conditions such as PTSD, chronic pain, gender issues counseling or working with people with disabilities.
Strong organizational skills for data collection, medical records management, CPT coding (Current Procedural Terminology), ICD coding accuracy, and research documentation. Pay: $60,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
