OT Infrastructure Engineer

Overview Client is seeking an Industrial Systems Engineer to own and stabilize the data, server, and communication infrastructure that supports automated manufacturing lines. This is a hybrid OT role focused on uptime, troubleshooting live production issues, and building repeatable, scalable plant architectures. You will work at the intersection of manufacturing equipment, industrial networking, SQL databases, and SCADA/historian platforms.Core ResponsibilitiesMaintain and troubleshoot manufacturing databases used by production equipmentSupport and administer SCADA/historian platforms (Ignition or equivalent)Troubleshoot Windows/Linux server infrastructure supporting automation systemsDiagnose and resolve production outages related to data systems and communicationsMonitor system performance, memory, storage, and service healthManage backups, redundancy, and disaster recovery; document recovery proceduresSupport industrial Ethernet communications between machinesStandardize and replicate automation infrastructure across production linesCollaborate with controls engineers and IT/network teams to improve reliabilityIdentify systemic risks and implement preventative improvementsParticipate in on-call support for critical production systemsEssential Qualifications, Skills, and Technologies5+ years in manufacturing, automation, or industrial systems (production environment)2+ years supporting SQL databases in a production setting (SQL Server)1+ year Windows Server and/or Linux administration experience3+ years industrial networking fundamentals (Ethernet/IP, OPC-UA, or similar)3+ years troubleshooting live production outagesSCADA/historian platform experience (Ignition or equivalent)Preferred (Nice-to-Have) Skills or ExperienceSQL Server DBA experienceVMware/virtualization experienceScripting (PowerShell or Python)MES and/or historian systems experienceIndustrial cybersecurity familiarityElectronics manufacturing environment experienceIgnition certificationCisco CCNA (or equivalent) and/or Server+/Linux+ certificationsExperience deploying repeatable automation architectures across lines/site Nesco Resource offers a comprehensive benefits package for our associates, which includes a MEC (Minimum Essential Coverage) plan that encompasses Medical, Vision, Dental, 401K, and EAP (Employee Assistance Program) services.
