Electrical Engineer – Distribution Engineering & Grid Analytics

We are hiring an Electrical Engineer with strong analytical skills and experience in electric distribution engineering to support grid analytics, predictive asset management, and utility operations projects with Pacific Gas and Electric Company.Key ResponsibilitiesAnalyze Smart Meter (AMI) data and predictive alerts to identify transformer and overhead/underground line defectsSupport distribution engineering activities including power flow analysis and protective device coordinationWork with large datasets including historical defect, inspection, and operational dataCollaborate with field operations, Protection & Control, and engineering teams to validate predictive models and operational recommendationsTranslate complex analytical findings into actionable insights for asset management and field teamsSupport reliability improvement initiatives across electric distribution systemsRequired QualificationsBachelor's Degree in Electrical EngineeringExperience in electric distribution engineering or utility operationsKnowledge of distribution line equipment and protective device settingsExperience with power flow analysis and distribution systemsStrong analytical and investigative skillsExperience working with large datasets and predictive analyticsPreferred QualificationsExperience with Smart Meter / AMI dataUtility industry experienceExposure to machine learning or predictive modelingExperience collaborating with field and operations teams
