Legal Secretary

A mid-sized law firm in New York is seeking a temporary Legal Secretary to join their team. In this role, you will play a key part in supporting legal professionals by providing essential administrative assistance and ensuring smooth operations within the department. Need litigation support experience.This is a temporary assignment for a few months.Pay rate: $40-45/hr.Fully on-siteHours: 9:00 AM - 5:00 PMResponsibilities:Provide administrative support to legal professionals, including answering phones, calendar management, scheduling meetings, and prioritizing tasks to ensure smooth workflow.Draft and format legal documents such as contracts, briefs, pleadings, and correspondence, ensuring accuracy, proper formatting, and adherence to company standards.Maintain electronic and physical filing systems for legal documents, ensuring organization and easy access, while managing confidential information securely.Conduct legal research using online databases and resources to support attorneys in case preparation and analysis, including gathering relevant statutes, regulations, and case law.Assist with administrative tasks such as photocopying, scanning, printing, and faxing documents, as well as submitting expense reimbursements and opening new client matters.Assist with client billing by tracking attorney time and expenses, entering data into billing software, and preparing invoices for clients.Coordinate travel arrangements and accommodations for attorneys attending out-of-town meetings, depositions, or trials, including booking flights, hotels, and rental cars.Qualifications:Previous experience as a legal secretary or administrative assistant in a corporate or legal environment is preferred.Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly MS Word, and familiarity with legal documentation and formatting.Exceptional organizational skills and a keen eye for detail to manage multiple tasks effectively and prioritize workload.Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally with team members, clients, and external stakeholders.
