Fiberutilities Group (FG) is looking to add to their dynamic team!This role offers a remote work schedule with the exception of one day per week in person.Fiberutilities Group (FG) is hiring a Network Operations Center (NOC) Technician I in Cedar Rapids, IA. The NOC Technician I will be responsible for monitoring the FG Network, responding to alerts, and handling IT needs for the FG departmentFiberutilities Group (FG) is a network services and management firm that provides Transformative Technology Solutions...built by humans for humans. Responsibilities and Duties: • Provide support to customers, vendors, and field engineers on technical solutions and updates. • Assess and resolve network, data, and customer's needs as they arise through the CR NOC• Perform dispatch efforts of both FG and client facing infrastructure for repairs, maintenance, testing and installations • Support off-hours escalation on a rotating basis• Perform routine maintenance, reporting, and troubleshooting on customer and FG network equipment and infrastructure• Strong knowledge of network/fiber installations, testing, maintenance, and power• Other duties as assignedEducation and Required Skills: • Two-year technical degree or five years of relevant industry experience or the equivalent combination of education and experience• Working knowledge and experience with Layer 2 and Layer 3 networking, and escalation processes• Understanding of monitoring, alarms, and associated responses and escalations• Installation, operational, and administrative experience with information technology such as PCs, servers, software, hardware, operating systems, end-point security, routers, switches, firewalls, and LAN/WANs• Solid understanding of IT/Networking concepts and ability to translate knowledge into maintenance, repair and installation tasksWork Experience Preferred but not required:• Experience with ArcGIS mapping tools and platforms• Working knowledge of Enterprise management platforms including SolarWinds, SNMP, and Quest Rapid RecoveryInterpersonal Skills/Characteristics: • Exhibits a high level of initiative and resourcefulness• Excellent interpersonal skills - written and verbal communication skills• Superior customer interface skills• Excellent client management skills• Work effectively without supervisionApply today and take the next step in your telecommunications career!We are an Equal Employment Opportunity employer.
