Technical and Trade SchoolsAdministration of Human Resource ProgramsBusiness Support ServicesEmployment ServicesCommercial and Industrial Machinery and Equipment Rental and LeasingLevel 1 Help Desk Technician (Remote / Hybrid Options)About the RoleWe're hiring Entry-Level Help Desk Technicians to provide first-line IT support for a technology-focused organization that delivers broadband, managed services, and modern IT solutions to customers across the U.S. This role is a great opportunity to build hands-on experience in a fast-paced IT support environment while working with a collaborative, service-driven team.As a Level 1 Help Desk Technician, you'll be the first point of contact for users experiencing technical issues, helping diagnose problems, resolve basic requests, and escalate more complex issues when needed.Work Location & SetupCandidates may work fully remote or be local to select U.S. office hubsTraining is 100% remoteCompany-provided equipment includes:PCDual monitorsHeadsetKeyboard and mouseCandidates must have:Reliable internet connection (minimum 20 Mbps download / 5 Mbps upload)Ability to hard-wire into their router using an Ethernet cableSchedule ExpectationsAssigned schedules are 2nd shiftPost-training schedules require working at least one weekend day (Saturday or Sunday; many schedules include both)Two consecutive days off provided during the weekAttendance and reliability are critical performance metrics in this roleKey ResponsibilitiesRespond to a high volume of IT support requests via phone, email, and chatTroubleshoot basic hardware, software, and connectivity issuesAssist with:Password resetsUser account supportSoftware installationsWindows-related issuesAccurately document all issues and resolutions in the ticketing systemFollow established processes to escalate issues when appropriateContribute to and leverage the internal knowledge baseDeliver excellent customer service while maintaining professionalism and empathyMeet or exceed performance metrics related to quality, call handling, and productivityRequired Skills & QualificationsComfort providing technical support in a customer-facing roleStrong troubleshooting and multitasking abilitiesWorking knowledge of Windows operating systemsExcellent communication and customer service skillsAbility to stay organized and detail-oriented in a metric-driven environmentNice-to-Have QualificationsCandidates who meet one or more of the following may qualify for a higher starting rate:Associate's degree or coursework in Computer Science or a related IT fieldTwo or more IT certifications (A+, Network+, Security+, CCNA)Bilingual skills (eligible for a pay differential upon conversion)Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Cedar Rapids, IA.Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $15.00 - $15.50/hr.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
