Details Works in a Medicine Specialty Unit within an acute care hospital setting Patient population includes a variety of cases ranging from simple to complex health conditions Med/Surg and Stepdown experience required for this unit Night shift schedule, 3 days per week at 12 hours per day (36 hours per week) 13-week contract Requirements Active RN license issued by the Oklahoma State Board of Nursing, or a current multistate compact RN license (eNLC) Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) required; all certifications must be AHA-issued Minimum of 1 year of RN experience required Minimum of 1 year of travel nursing experience required Med/Surg and Stepdown experience required Level I facility experience preferred Associate's Degree in Nursing (ADN) from an accredited program required; BSN preferred Proficiency in organizing, planning, and evaluating nursing care Basic computer skills required Additional Information Assumes responsibility for an assigned group of patients, documenting responses to nursing interventions and prescribed medical treatments Administers medications, initiates and monitors IV infusions and blood products, and assists physicians with examinations and minor diagnostic procedures Educates patients and families on care plans, hospital procedures, and discharge planning; delegates tasks to support staff as appropriate Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible — no local candidates will be considered Candidates who have previously worked at this facility may only extend once for a total of 26 weeks; a 6-month separation period is required before becoming eligible for another contract Compliance with onboarding requirements (drug screens, background checks, medical requirements) must begin immediately upon acceptance of an offer American Traveler Job ID P-681805.
