Safety Specialist – North DakotaJob SummaryWe are seeking a proactive and experienced Safety Specialist to support field operations and ensure compliance with all health, safety, and environmental (HSE) standards across project sites in North Dakota. This individual will play a critical role in promoting a strong safety culture, conducting field inspections, ensuring regulatory compliance, and supporting incident prevention initiatives in fast-paced industrial and construction environments.The ideal candidate is a hands-on safety professional who thrives in field-based operations and is passionate about driving operational excellence through safe work practices.Key ResponsibilitiesPromote and enforce a strong safety culture across all project sites and field operationsConduct routine field audits, safety inspections, and Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs/JSAs) to identify and mitigate workplace risksEnsure compliance with OSHA regulations, company policies, and client-specific safety requirementsLead daily safety meetings, toolbox talks, orientations, and training sessions for employees and contractorsInvestigate incidents, near misses, and safety concerns; prepare detailed reports and recommend corrective actionsMaintain accurate safety documentation including inspections, permits, training records, and compliance reportsSupport emergency response planning and ensure site readiness for emergency situationsCollaborate with operations, project management, and subcontractors to continuously improve safety performanceMonitor PPE compliance and safe work practices, including confined space entry, lockout/tagout (LOTO), hot work, fall protection, and excavation activitiesServe as a visible safety leader and resource for field personnelQualifications3+ years of safety experience in industrial, construction, energy, oil & gas, utilities, manufacturing, or related environmentsStrong knowledge of OSHA regulations and industry safety best practicesExperience conducting safety audits, incident investigations, and employee trainingAbility to work in active field environments and travel to project sites as neededStrong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence safe behaviors at all levels of an organizationProficiency with Microsoft Office and safety reporting systemsPreferred QualificationsOSHA 30 Certification required (OSHA 500/510 preferred)CPR/First Aid certification preferredCHST, ASP, CSP, or other professional safety certifications are a plusExperience supporting renewable energy, oil & gas, heavy industrial, or large-scale construction projects preferredWork EnvironmentPrimarily field-based role with exposure to outdoor weather conditions common in North DakotaMay require extended hours, rotational schedules, or overtime depending on project demandsAbility to lift up to 50 lbs and navigate active industrial and construction sites safely
