MUMPS Developer
Job Title: MUMPS DeveloperLocation: Remote (USA)Type: Long Term Contact/FulltimeJob SummaryWe are seeking an experienced MUMPS Developer to develop, maintain, and support healthcare applications built on the MUMPS (Massachusetts General Hospital Utility Multi-Programming System) platform. The ideal candidate will have strong experience working with InterSystems Cache, IRIS, HealthShare, Epic Chronicles, VistA, or other MUMPS-based systems, along with expertise in healthcare data integration and database management.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign, develop, enhance, and maintain MUMPS-based applications.Write, optimize, and troubleshoot MUMPS routines, globals, and database structures.Support healthcare systems utilizing MUMPS technologies such as InterSystems Cache/IRIS, Epic, VistA, or HealthShare.Analyze business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.Develop and maintain interfaces using HL7, FHIR, and other healthcare integration standards.Perform debugging, performance tuning, and system optimization.Collaborate with Business Analysts, Architects, and QA teams throughout the SDLC.Create technical documentation and provide production support.Participate in code reviews and ensure adherence to development standards.Required QualificationsBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.3+ years of hands-on experience in MUMPS development.Experience with InterSystems Cache, IRIS, HealthShare, or other MUMPS databases.Strong knowledge of MUMPS programming, globals, routines, and database concepts.Experience with SQL and relational database technologies.Understanding of HL7, FHIR, EDI, or healthcare interoperability standards.Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.Preferred QualificationsExperience with Epic Chronicles, VistA, or other healthcare platforms.Healthcare, Medicaid, Medicare, or payer/provider domain experience.Experience with ObjectScript and InterSystems technologies.Familiarity with Linux/Unix environments.Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
