The Quality Engineer will report to the Engineering Manager and have the opportunity to be diverse in their quality job responsibilities. In this role you will be responsible for the following tasks:Lead and improve the supplier quality systemCommunicate with customers and serve as the point of contact for quality issuesAssist the manufacturing floor with quality issues and concerns, including completing root cause analysis and implementing countermeasuresUtilize formal problem solving techniquesPerform internal and external quality auditsMonitor and document PCRs (process change requests)Create and maintain PPAPs for the siteChampion the site QMS, including finding opportunities for improvementsMaintain and improve compliance goals related to the quality management systemPartner with external quality labs as neededOther quality engineering tasks as assignedCandidates must be able to communicate directly and effectively at all levels, be self-motivated, take initiative on projects, work on multiple tasks and be hands on. This position requires candidates to be on the manufacturing floor up to 30% of their day. Individuals should have excellent floor communication skills and be able to effectively communicate with front line associates. Candidates should be hands on with their quality duties. High school diploma; a Bachelor's degree is highly preferred2. Depending on the level of education, at least 3-5 years of similar quality engineering experience3. Experience performing quality functions in a manufacturing environment; automotive suppliers highly preferred4. Experience with formal problem solving techniques5. Experience leading root cause analysis and implementing countermeasures6. Experience with quality audits7. Experience working in ISO or IATF 16949 quality management systems8. General knowledge of PPAPs9. Willingness to travel to Mexico with others, up to twice per year10. Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables and VLOOKUPsSkills preferred but NOT required:1. Six Sigma or Lean certifications2. Quality certifications3. Supervision experience4. Supplier quality experienceCandidates are required to be local to the Findlay, Ohio area. There is not a relocation package being offered at this time.
