Senior Construction Manager

The Senior Construction Manager is responsible for overseeing, coordinating and completing all aspects of the construction of wireless telecommunication sites including Macro’s (new site build), Mod’s (addition/upgrade to existing site), Small Cells (ROW or Private LL). In addition to overseeing junior staff and assisting in their development.What are the core responsibilities for the role?Interface with Site Acquisition, Zoning, Field Engineering, A&E consultants and General Contractors to construct quality wireless sites and/or modifications according to plan and on schedulePerform site walks at candidate selection and determine construction feasibilityWork with A&E firms to coordinate all aspects of zoning and construction documentsConduct utility coordination meetingsPrepare General Contractor bid packages, bid projects and make contractor selection recommendationsManage standards of construction for Customer / ClientSchedule equipment delivery and installation and verify with carrier client schedulesInspect and approve completed construction projectsPrepare punch lists as requiredEnsure all construction related milestones are entered into the project trackingEnsure that all applicable safety and regulatory requirements are followed and documentedOversee and coordinate day-to-day interaction with assigned construction managersOversee and assist in development of assigned construction managersAssist in delivering complete projects for market deployment in a timely manner to meet overall market goals and objectivesGeneral knowledge and understanding of the requirements to submit for building applications, construction drawings and documentation, and utility requirementsAdvanced knowledge of building systems (HVAC, emergency generators, National Electrical Code requirements); environmental requirements including hazardous material, spill prevention, and other regulatory guidelines, general building maintenance, and vendor maintenanceMust have construction knowledge of requirements for rooftop installations, tower locations and raw land locationsExtensive experience with antenna types, antenna mounts, coax, grounding systems and AC powerAdvanced understanding of all aspects of construction with respect to Wireless Cell sitesProficient in operating systems and applications including but not limited to: VZW – FUZE, MS Office, Adobe Acrobat and/or REVU BluebeamValid driver license and clean driving record requiredQualifications, Skills, And CompetenciesMinimum of 5 years Wireless Telecommunications experience preferredStrong Utility Coordination experienceExperience processing building permits and ROW permitsAbility to read and understand Utility as-built plansTechnical understanding/abilityDesire to succeed and learn new skillsCommitment to excellence and high standardsStrong organizational skills; able to manage priorities and workflowAbility to work independently and as a member of various teamsAbility to manage and oversee development of assigned staffAcute attention to detailGood judgment with the ability to make timely and sound decisionsVersatility, flexibility and a willingness to work within constantly changing prioritiesAbility to work irregular hours, including occasional evenings and weekendsAbility to travel, including overnight as determined by projectWhy would a candidate want this job?
