This role is critical to maintaining high standards of safety, reliability, and customer satisfaction across a diverse portfolio of elevator and lifting equipment.As an Elevator Mechanic, you will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of elevators and related systems. This position requires strong mechanical aptitude, electrical troubleshooting skills, and the ability to work with complex control circuits while ensuring compliance with all applicable safety and code requirements.Key ResponsibilitiesInspect elevators of various types and manufacturers to identify causes of malfunction and determine corrective actionsDiagnose equipment deficiencies and recommend repairs, upgrades, or component replacementsInstall, maintain, and repair elevators, escalators, and other vertical transportation equipmentAnalyze and resolve mechanical and electrical failures, including emergency situationsTroubleshoot control systems and mechanical componentsRepair or replace defective parts to restore proper operationPerform routine inspections to ensure equipment performance, reliability, and code complianceRespond promptly to emergency service callsMaintain accurate documentation of repairs, maintenance activities, and inspectionsProvide professional, customer-focused service to building owners, managers, and occupantsPerform additional duties as required to support operational needsQualificationsValid state and/or local Elevator Mechanic license, as requiredCompletion of an approved elevator apprenticeship program or relevant technical trainingMinimum of 4 years of hands-on elevator industry experienceStrong working knowledge of mechanical and electrical systemsProven troubleshooting and problem-solving abilitiesEffective communication and customer service skillsThorough understanding of safety regulations and building codesStrong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanshipAbility to lift heavy equipment and work in confined or elevated spacesValid driver's licenseWork Environment & HazardsWork performed in a variety of settings, including commercial buildings, hospitals, airports, and residential propertiesRegular exposure to heights, confined spaces, and mechanical roomsPotential hazards include electrical exposure, falls, and contact with hazardous materialsPhysical RequirementsAbility to lift equipment weighing 50 pounds or moreCapability to climb ladders, kneel, bend, and work in restricted spacesMay require prolonged standing and working in awkward positionsWork ContactsRegular interaction with internal teams, customers, contractors, regulatory authorities, and managementCompensation & BenefitsWe offer a comprehensive benefits package designed to support your health, financial well-being, and professional growth.
