Hotel Maintenance Person
TASKS AND JOB DUTIES INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO, THE FOLLOWING:Responding to, in a courteous manner, any and all guest questions, complaints, and requests.Perform general maintenance, including routine repairs, replacing bathroom tiles and light bulbs, painting, repairing walls, minor carpentry, etc.Regularly check air (HVAC), heating, ventilation, appliances, plumbing, etc. and notify Chief Engineer when repairs are needed.Assist with landscaping.Utilize basic hand and power tools required for general maintenance.Complete checklists and other maintenance records in accordance with company policy and government regulations.Maintain tools, workspaces, and equipment.Complies with all Best Western and LaCava Companies procedures, rules, and regulations.Perform other services, duties, and special projects as requested by the General Manager.PREREQUISITES:Competencies and Other Requirements: Ability to communicate, listen, take orders, and multi-task. Must be able to work independently with minimum amount of direct supervision. Ability to drive a shuttle van, including having a valid driver's license. Must be able to work a flexible schedule to include long hours, call-ins in the event of an emergency or snowstorm, etc. Night and weekend availability is required and mandatory.Education: High School or Vocation School. Ability to read, speak, write, and understand the primary language of the workplace.Experience: Previous hotel, trade show, commercial building or building maintenance experience.
