Construction Manager, Hampton Rd, VAWe are seeking an experienced Construction Manager to join our growing team in the Hampton Roads area. This position is ideal for a driven construction professional who can successfully lead projects from preconstruction through closeout while maintaining strong client relationships, project schedules, and quality standards.Compensation· Salary: $100,000 – $115,000 based on experience· Benefits available· Vehicle allowance (if applicable)Duties and responsibilities· Directs and oversees all aspects of construction operations related to safety, quality, cost control, project schedule, contract administration, and employee relations· Sets strategic direction and standards for operational performance, sustainability, and growth· Directs, plans, and manages utilization of project resources (facilities, equipment, budget, and personnel/subcontractors) to maximize efficiency and customer satisfaction· Maintains authority and control over significant projects, subcontractor relationships, company personnel, and project targets· Ensure compliance with all laws and regulationsManage Team's (PMs, QCs, Safety Officers, Project Superintendents) schedules to maximize performance, managing overtime, vacation, and absences.Conduct Team Member performance appraisals.Assist in troubleshooting and process improvement efforts, including facilitation of teams.· Identify areas to improve operations to achieve or exceed key performance indicators and targets.· Work with senior leaders to identify and drive process improvement initiatives and change efforts.· Travel to construction project sitesQualifications· Ideal candidates will have at a minimum, a BS Degree in Engineering or Construction Management and 10+ years of construction experience.· Candidates must have a strong working knowledge of MS Office and P6 or Microsoft Project.· Previous experience with Department of Defense or other federal agency construction projects, as a Prime Contractor, is preferred.Must have experience in understanding Government contract requirements.Must have experience in Design/Build projects that require submitting staged submittals (50%/75%/100%).Managerial experience across multiple project sitesEstimating and Budget experienceProblem Solving/Troubleshooting skillsStrong communication skills with company executives, project teams, subcontractors, and clientsThoroughness and attentiveness to detailsAbility to prioritize and multitaskProactive and deadline-orientedAbility to interact effectively with customers, vendors, and employees at all levels of the organization.Working conditionsMust be able to obtain Department of Defense security clearance and pass a background check. Travel is primarily local during the business day, although some out-of-area and overnight travel may be expected. Experience with extreme temperatures and weather conditions on job sites is expected.Physical requirementsMust maintain the physical condition necessary to perform tasks in an office setting; operate a computer, keyboard, and other office equipment; safely drive an automobile; and walk, stand, and climb distances in construction settings to inspect the progress of assigned projects.
