Summer School Coordinator

START DATE: 6-9-2620 HOUR PER WEEK*If more than one person is hired - $7000.00 is split between them.1. Valid Michigan Teaching Certificate required.2. Experienced teacher3. Demonstrate leadership skills4. Ability to work effectively with staff, students, and community.RESPONSIBILITIES:1. Oversee daily running of operation of grades 6-12 program2. Development of brochure3. Development of course selections and descriptions for Middle School and High School4. Establish staffing needs and posts respectively5. Interview Summer School teacher candidates6. Hold planning sessions for teachers in Middle and High School7. Secures and distributes curriculum, instructional texts and supplies to all teachers8. Establishes and communicates daily/hourly schedules9. Organizes and plans for classroom usage10. Sets daily break schedule11. Ensures teacher readiness for classroom instruction12. Communicates with the Transportation Department to arrange busses and routes13. Assigns duties to bus drivers during "off" hours in day14. Meets requirements of Title 1 programming for Middle School students15. Responds and facilitates student discipline and service issues16. Oversees daily Counseling activities with Counselors17. Ensures student progress reporting procedures
