Experienced Trusts & Estates AttorneyLocation: Primarily Remote (Flexible/Variable Office Hours)Position Type: Full‑TimeAbout the RoleOur firm is seeking a highly experienced Trusts and Estates Attorney with 5 plus years of experience to join our team. The ideal candidate will be fully versed in trust and estate law and capable of independently managing matters from initial client intake through final resolution. This is a great opportunity for someone who values autonomy, high‑quality legal work, and a flexible, mostly remote environment.Litigation experience involving trusts and estates matters is highly valued and considered a significant plus, though not mandatory.Key ResponsibilitiesThe successful candidate will be expected to perform the full scope of duties typically required in a trusts and estates practice, including:Estate PlanningConduct client consultations to understand goals, assets, and family dynamicsDraft, review, and revise estate planning documents, including:WillsRevocable and irrevocable trustsPowers of attorneyAdvance health care directivesGift planning instrumentsProvide sophisticated tax planning advice related to federal estate, gift, and generation‑skipping transfer taxesAdvise high‑net‑worth clients on wealth transfer strategies and succession planningTrust & Estate AdministrationGuide trustees, executors, and beneficiaries through probate and non‑probate administrationPrepare and file probate petitions and related court documentsMarshal, inventory, and value assetsAddress creditor claims and supervise payment of obligationsCoordinate preparation of estate, fiduciary, and gift tax returnsManage trust funding and distribution processesInterpret trust instruments and advise fiduciaries on complianceClient Counseling & Case ManagementManage matters independently with minimal supervisionMaintain strong professional communication with clients, fiduciaries, beneficiaries, and co‑professionalsProvide strategic advice, risk assessment, and clear explanations of complex legal mattersMaintain organized case files and deadlines from intake to conclusion(Optional but Preferred) LitigationHandle or assist with trust and estate disputes, including:Will contestsBreach of fiduciary duty claimsAccounting disputesInterpretation issuesDraft pleadings, motions, discovery, and negotiate settlementsQualificationsJ.D. from an accredited law schoolLicensed and in good standing with the Utah state bar5 plus years of trusts and estates experienceStrong drafting, analytical, and communication skillsAbility to work independently and manage a full caseloadCompensation & BenefitsWe offer a competitive compensation package commensurate with experience, including:100% employer‑paid health and dental insurance401(k) planAdditional fringe benefitsPrimarily remote work environment with flexible, varying office hours
