Receiver:Position SummaryThe Receiver pumps incoming raw milk or cream from tank trucks into storage tanks, documents, and records volume into inventory.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesThe essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:Driving Company PerformancePump incoming milk from tank trucks to storage tank, and compute and record volume of milk received.Weigh loaded truck on platform scale and records weight on log sheet.Dip and pour sample of milk from vent hole of truck into bottle for laboratory analysis.Take temperature of milk, and record data and temperature reading.May perform antibiotic and other laboratory tests as required.Transfer milk to tank, read milk-flow meter, and record volume pumped on record sheet.Wash and sanitize interior and exterior of tank.Weigh empty truck and record weight.Compute difference between loaded and unloaded weights of truck to verify accuracy of meter.Take raw milk inventory at the end of the day.Train others in the receiving operations.Maintain communication with other departments, management and employees and notify them of any problems and/or concerns that may restrict the efficiency of production.Analyze process data and equipment performance data to improve quality, throughput, and troubleshoot.Adhere to food safety and quality system requirements by committing to meet all pertinent regulatory, customer and SQF requirements.Ensure all paperwork is filled out in a clear, legible, and accurate format, and completed with required information. Ensure all required information is documented in accordance with SOP's.Utilize continuous improvement mindset, assist in identifying opportunities to improve processes.Follow Good Manufacturing Practices.Maintain a clean, sanitary and safe work area.Follow all required work safe practices, including lockout-tagout requirements and wearing of all required PPE in designated areas, confined space safety, safe chemical handling, fall restraints, etc.Responsible for food safety, pre-requisite programs and food quality related to designated area.Report any food safety and food quality related issues to management immediately.Perform other duties as assigned.Employee DevelopmentSafety TrainingQuality Assurance trainingQualificationsRequiredPreferredWork ExperienceOne to two years related experience and/or training in a manufacturing environmentExperience in food and beverage industryEducationHigh School diploma or EquivalentTechnical KnowledgeEffective verbal and written communication skills; able to write legibly to complete paperworkBasic Math skillsFollow and comply with all safety standardsAdditional Skills/NotesAble to work in a fast-paced environmentDependabilityDetailed orientedAble to adapt to changing organizational and operational needsAdherence to safety requirements and wearing required PPEAble to work in a team environmentAble to multi-task and be organizedPass all pre-employment screens, including drug, background and criminal checksPhysical Demands and Work EnvironmentThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this position. Employees may be exposed to some chemicals. The noise level in the work environment is moderate. Employees may experience swings in work-related demands of this position.While performing the duties of this job, employees are regularly required to stand, walk, kneel, and bend throughout the entire shift.Employees must frequently be able to lift up to 50 pounds with a safety harness. Employees will be required to climb in high, restricted areas.
