428 Health Care - Lamar Estates is seeking a Maintenance Director for its 60-bed Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation CenterDepartment: Plant Operations/Maintenance DirectorReports To: AdministratorLocation: Lamar Estates- 205 S 10th St, Lamar, CO 81052Position SummaryThe Maintenance Director is responsible for overseeing the safe, efficient, and compliant operation of the nursing home's physical plant. This role ensures that the building, grounds, and all equipment are well maintained, meet regulatory standards, and provide a safe, comfortable environment for residents, staff, and visitors.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesFacility & Equipment MaintenanceOversee preventive and corrective maintenance of the building, grounds, and all systems (HVAC, plumbing, electrical, life safety, medical gas, generators, etc.).Perform routine inspections to identify safety hazards, repair needs, and compliance issues.Ensure timely completion of work orders and maintenance requests.Regulatory Compliance & SafetyEnsure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations (CMS, Life Safety Code, OSHA, fire marshal requirements).Maintain documentation for inspections, repairs, and preventive maintenance schedules.Coordinate and participate in surveys, inspections, and audits; address deficiencies and implement corrective actions.Lead fire safety programs, emergency preparedness, and disaster drills.Leadership & SupervisionSupervise, train, and schedule maintenance staff.Assign work, monitor performance, and ensure staff follow safety and infection control procedures.Coordinate with contractors and vendors as needed.Budgeting & PurchasingAssist with department budgeting and cost control.Order supplies, tools, and equipment; manage inventory.Obtain bids and oversee contracted maintenance and repair services.Resident & Staff SupportRespond promptly to resident and staff concerns related to maintenance issues.Ensure repairs are completed with minimal disruption to resident care.Support infection control practices and resident safety at all times.QualificationsEducation & ExperienceHigh school diploma or equivalent required; technical or trade school training preferred.Minimum of 3–5 years of maintenance experience, preferably in a healthcare or long-term care setting.Supervisory experience strongly preferred.Skills & KnowledgeStrong working knowledge of building systems, life safety codes, and preventive maintenance programs.Familiarity with CMS regulations, Life Safety Code, and OSHA standards.Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.Physical RequirementsAbility to lift, carry, and move equipment (up to 50 lbs).Ability to stand, walk, bend, and work in various environmental conditions.Work EnvironmentHealthcare setting with exposure to mechanical equipment, cleaning chemicals, and occasional emergency situations.On-call availability may be required for emergencies.
