Field Engineer

We are seeking a Field Engineer who will work directly with our clients, vendors, and service delivery teams. The role involves supporting RTLS projects at multiple VA Medical Centres and handling technology such as asset tracking, patient elopement, and hand hygiene compliance. Position Field Engineer – Long Beach, VA – Full time Key Responsibilities Field engineer at multiple VA medical centers in the Greater Los Angeles area, with travel to other U.S. VA locations as needed. Hardware installation, medical equipment tagging, battery management, system audits, hand hygiene compliance systems support, and front‑line customer support. Provide excellent customer service to VA clients. Work independently to complete assigned tasks in an organized and timely manner. Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting activities. Provide oral and written feedback for any identified issues, and/or status reporting. Escalate issues to internal team members or vendor contacts, as needed, to provide timely resolution. Attend internal and client‑facing meetings as required. Complete other RTLS support activities as required by the site. When not on‑site, respond to Help Desk tickets to resolve customer inquiries including troubleshooting technical issues and creating supporting documentation. Required Skills and Education US citizenship (required). Ability to obtain security clearance by the Federal Government. Minimum high‑school diploma (2‑year associate degree preferred). 2 years’ experience in a professional services environment supporting technical and non‑technical users preferred. Team player with a proactive attitude and the ability to be productive in a dynamic/collaborative environment. Self‑starter willing to work with hospital staff to integrate RTLS into everyday business workflows. Strong oral and written communication skills. Proficient in Microsoft Office tools including Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Knowledge in one or more of the following: hardware installation and maintenance of Wi‑Fi, infrared, and/or wireless devices. Experience with hardware installation including the use of drills, screwdrivers, and other tools. Physical requirements: walking long distances, climbing ladders, reaching overhead, squatting, bending, kneeling, and safely accessing confined spaces. Work Locations On‑site at VA facility in Long Beach with as‑needed travel throughout California/Nevada to other VA medical centers: Mather, Martinez, San Francisco, Livermore, Menlo Park, Fresno, Reno. Work from home on days site work is not required. Other Up to 75% travel may be required for this position (reimbursable). Must have a valid driver’s license, insurance, and means of transportation.
