Job Summary and Responsibilities Weight Management Psychologist Opportunity! The Center for Digestive Health (CDH) is a priority service line at Virginia Mason Franciscan Health and is seeking to fill a full-time Psychologist. The goal of CDH is to build a nationally recognized, fully-integrated, destination program for patients with digestive health concerns including bariatric/weight management, GI, colorectal, esophageal, liver, and pancreas conditions. Within CDH is the Center for Weight Managements comprehensive weight loss program that includes medical weight loss clinics in Seattle, Edmonds, Federal Way, and Silverdale as well as three nationally-accredited bariatric surgery programs offered at St. Francis Hospital (SFH) in Federal Way, Virginia Mason Medical Center (VMMC) in Seattle, and St. Michael Medical Center (SMMC) in Silverdale.VMFH is seeking a dedicated behavioral health professional to join the comprehensive weight loss team in Silverdale and work collaboratively with team members across all Center for Weight Management locations. This behavioral health role is important for a weight loss center because successful, sustainable weight loss often involves more than just diet and exerciseit also requires addressing the psychological and emotional factors that influence eating behaviors, body image, and motivation. The role is critical to help weight management patients address the following: Emotional eating and behavior patterns Body image and self-esteem Behavior change support Managing setbacks and relapses Addressing eating disordersThis position will have a dotted line reporting to the Behavioral Health service line leadership team. The psychologist will perform patient care and attend meetings in person as well as virtually. #HEC Job Requirements Masters or Doctoral degree in Psychology, with focus on health psychology and/ or obesity management. Board certification in Obesity Management or Bariatric Counseling is advantageous Must be licensed to practice psychology in the state of Washington with good moral standing to ensure effective support to patients undergoing weight loss surgery and address psychological factors affecting their health.
