Payroll and Benefit Manager

Job Summary:mPulse is seeking a Payroll & Benefits Manager to lead the administration and execution of payroll and benefits programs across the organization. This role is responsible for ensuring accurate and compliant multi-state payroll processing, managing employee benefits programs, and maintaining adherence to all federal, state, and local regulations. The ideal candidate will bring strong expertise in payroll operations, benefits administration, and HRIS systems, and will partner closely with Finance, People Ops, and external vendors to deliver a seamless employee experience.Duties/Responsibilities:Manage end-to-end multi-state payroll processing, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and complianceEnsure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll tax regulations and wage and hour lawsAdminister employee benefits programs, including medical, dental, vision, 401(k), and leave programsServe as the primary point of contact for payroll and benefits inquiries and issue resolutionPartner with Finance on payroll reconciliations, audits, and reportingMaintain and optimize payroll and benefits processes within UKG and Dayforce systemsManage relationships with payroll providers, brokers, and third-party administratorsLead open enrollment, benefits communication, and employee education initiativesMaintain accurate records and ensure proper documentation for compliance and auditsIdentify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracySkills/Abilities/Experience:Strong knowledge of multi-state payroll processing and compliance requirementsExperience with HRIS systems such as UKG and DayforceDeep understanding of payroll tax, wage laws, and benefits administrationStrong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detailAbility to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretionExcellent organizational and time management skillsStrong communication skills with the ability to support employees and stakeholdersExperience managing vendors and cross-functional collaborationMinimum Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Finance, Accounting, or related field preferred5+ years of experience in payroll and benefits administration, including multi-state payrollExperience ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local employment lawsHands-on experience with UKG, Dayforce, or similar HRIS/payroll systemsPreferredCertified Payroll Professional (CPP) or related certificationExperience in a SaaS or healthcare environmentExperience supporting audits and compliance reportingPhysical Requirements:* Ability to stand and sit for extended period of time.* Ability to lift 10 lbs. weight.
