Practice Setting
Inpatient urology service at a large & high-volume trauma center
Weekend unit census typically 20 to 25, with 15 to 20 consults over the weekend
Adults 95%, pediatrics 5%
Weekday day shift supported by a dedicated PA, standard hospital staff in place
Schedule
24 hour call coverage for 7 consecutive days
Shift runs 6a to 6a
Ongoing coverage needs
Cases and Procedures
Must be comfortable with Open trauma including GSW and stab wounds involving kidney or testicle, bladder repair
Stone care, stents, catheters, cystoscopy
Torsion cases including pediatrics
Endourology procedures, hand assisted laparoscopic nephrectomy
Incidental appendectomy, adrenal surgery, hernia repair
Requirements
Must be an MD or DO
Board Certified in Urology
Active South Carolina medical license in hand, unable to wait for licensure
Comfortable serving as the sole urologist on site and managing open trauma cases
Credentialing
Credentialing timeframe is typically 45 to 60 days
