Urology Locums Opportunity - South Carolina A high-acuity Level II Trauma Center in South Carolina near the Columbia metro area is seeking an experienced Urologist for an inpatient-only Uro-Hospitalist locums assignment. This is an excellent opportunity for a physician who thrives in a fast-paced trauma environment and is comfortable managing complex emergent urologic cases independently.The facility is a nearly 600-bed regional referral center with a very busy inpatient service and robust surgical volume. Providers will function as the sole onsite Urologist during coverage periods and should be confident handling trauma, consultative, and operative responsibilities without additional Urology support onsite. Position Highlights Inpatient-only Uro-Hospitalist role24-hour call coverageBusy Level II Trauma Center environmentHigh-volume consult and surgical serviceEpic EMRFast credentialing consideration for qualified candidates Responsibilities The locum physician will provide comprehensive inpatient urologic coverage including:Daily hospital roundsED and inpatient consultsEmergency and urgent surgical interventionTrauma-related GU injuries and repairsGeneral inpatient urologic procedures and operative management Required Clinical Experience Candidates must be fully comfortable managing:Open urologic trauma casesGunshot and stab wound injuries involving kidneys, bladder, and testiclesBladder repair proceduresStone management and endourologyUreteral stents and catheter proceduresCystoscopiesTesticular torsion cases (including pediatric)Hand-assisted laparoscopic nephrectomyAdrenal surgeryHernia repairIncidental appendectomy procedures Provider Requirements Board Certified or Board Eligible in UrologyActive South Carolina medical licenseActive CSRDEA permanently registered in South CarolinaComfortable working independently as the sole onsite UrologistTrauma experience strongly preferred Schedule & Coverage Need Current open coverage:December 24 - January 4Coverage consists primarily of:24-hour call shiftsInpatient roundingSurgical and trauma response coverage Orientation Requirements All new locum providers are required to complete a half-day onsite orientation prior to their first shift. Orientation must occur Monday through Friday and cannot be completed on weekends or holidays.
