Our team specializes in cosmetic dermatology, regenerative aesthetics, laser treatments, injectables, and integrative wellness services, delivered through a high-touch, patient-centered approach known as the SOM Method.We are seeking an experienced Medical Assistant to provide temporary coverage during a team member’s leave. This role is ideal for a highly organized, proactive MA who thrives in a fast-paced clinical environment and takes pride in delivering exceptional patient care and provider support.The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, calm under pressure, emotionally intelligent, and able to anticipate the needs of both patients and providers in a luxury cosmetic dermatology setting.ResponsibilitiesPrepare treatment rooms, devices, injectables, and supplies to support efficient clinic flowAssist providers during cosmetic and medical dermatology proceduresPerform patient intake, including obtaining medical history, vital signs, and treatment-related informationCapture standardized clinical photography and maintain accurate medical documentationSupport patient comfort, education, and overall experience throughout the visitMaintain awareness of clinic flow throughout the day, proactively communicating with providers and front office team members to support an efficient patient experienceAssist in coordinating patient movement between consultation, treatment, photography, and checkout processesDouble-check patient checkout details including treatment documentation, invoicing accuracy, product recommendations, follow-up scheduling, and completion of provider instructionsSupport accurate invoicing, treatment entry, and charge capture within the EMR systemMaintain inventory and ensure procedural readiness across treatment areasAssist with patient scheduling, phone communication, and coordination as neededSupport content capture and media assistance during consultations and procedures when appropriateCollaborate closely with providers and team members to maintain seamless clinic operationsUphold SOM standards for professionalism, hospitality, discretion, and patient careAdhere to all HIPAA, OSHA, infection control, and patient privacy protocolsRequirementsCurrent Medical Assistant certification in the state of California2+ years of experience in medical aesthetics, dermatology, or plastic surgery preferredExperience assisting with cosmetic procedures strongly preferredStrong organizational skills and attention to detailAbility to multitask effectively in a fast-paced clinical environmentExcellent interpersonal and communication skillsProfessional, polished, and patient-centered demeanorComfortable working collaboratively within a high-performance team environmentProficiency with Mac OS and electronic medical record systemsCPR certification preferredSchedule & Position DetailsFull-time temporary position. We are ideally seeking someone who can begin onboarding and training in advance of our anticipated late summer coverage needs.Anticipated schedule is Monday through Thursday, 9:45 AM–6:15 PM; Friday 9:45 AM–5:15 PMPosition duration, scheduling, and clinic staffing needs are subject to change based on business needs.Compensation$30-34/hour depending on experience, specialty training, and aesthetic dermatology background.BenefitsEligible team members may have access to:401(k) eligibility after 90 daysTeam member pricing on skincare products and aesthetic servicesOngoing education and training opportunitiesAccess to advanced aesthetic technologies and proceduresA collaborative, growth-oriented team cultureAbout the SOM TeamAt SOM Aesthetics, we believe exceptional patient outcomes begin with exceptional patient experiences.
