The company has thrived as a family business through four generations and has grown to be a market leader and best in class innovator.Position SummaryOur Machine Operator (Floater) is primarily based at our Grandville, MI location and focuses on metals operations. While Grandville will be the home base, this role will occasionally float to other PADNOS locations in the greater Grand Rapids area as needed. As a Machine Operator, you're also responsible for safely operating equipment such as hi-lo, loader, forklift, sweeper and/or small loader to assist in loading, unloading, grading, inspecting, buying and transportation of materials. Mechanical experience is a plus as the machines do break down and it is helpful to do what we can without calling for maintenance.ScheduleMonday - Friday, weekends as needed1st ShiftResponsibilitiesDistinguish between numerous grades and types of materials using basic identification tests according to company standardsPerform required bore, during and after-operation user maintenanceMonitor equipment, troubleshoot and/or notify management of any malfunctions that occurMaintain and protect all property entrusted to you in excellent conditionPrepare various documents and reportsTroubleshoot and mechanical diagnosis to identify repair needs such as motors, gearboxes, augers, pulleys, conveyors, and morePrepare and complete required paperworkQualificationsHilo experience requiredGood interpersonal and customer service skillsAbility to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environmentAbility to work independently and as part of a teamAccuracy in operation and attention to detailSix months' operating small equipment experience preferred (loader, forklift, scissor lift)Equipment operation and preventative maintenance knowledge (conveyors, pulleys, etc)PADNOS has a rich history of taking care of our team members, their families and the multiple communities we serve.
