General Manager

Role Overview:We are seeking a General Manager to assume full operational and financial leadership of an acquired business over a structured transition period. This role is designed to replace the current owner's day-to-day responsibilities over approximately six months, after which the owner will transition into a limited advisory and sale-support role.The business is a high-margin metal fabrication and roofing business serving residential and commercial customers throughout the Western Slope. The General Manager will own the P&L, lead the team, drive disciplined growth, and ensure the business is positioned for long-term success as part of a larger platform.This is a hands-on leadership role for a strong operator who can both run the business and build systems.Core Accountabilities:Full P&L ownership and financial performance of the businessSuccessful transition of operational leadership from the founder within six monthsLeadership and development of sales, operations, and production teamsMargin discipline, cost control, and cash-flow managementCustomer satisfaction, quality, safety, and execution excellenceImplementation of scalable systems, processes, and reportingKey Responsibilities:Leadership & TransitionWork closely with the current owner during the transition period to absorb institutional knowledge, customer relationships, and operational workflowsGradually assume full responsibility for day-to-day decision-making, team leadership, and executionMaintain alignment with platform leadership on strategy, reporting, and performanceOperations & Production:Oversee all day-to-day operations, including production scheduling, materials, labor, and quality controlPartner with the Superintendent and Operations leadership to ensure projects are executed safely, on time, and within margin targetsMaintain strong vendor and supplier relationshipsSales & Pipeline Management:Manage and oversee the sales pipeline and top-line teamSupport estimating, inspections, and proposals for service, re-roof, and select exterior opportunitiesCoordinate with platform sales resources where applicableFinancial Management:Own budgeting, forecasting, and monthly financial performancePartner with accounting to produce accurate monthly and quarterly financial reportsMonitor job costing, gross margins, overhead, and net profitabilityReporting & Communication:Maintain clear, consistent communication with team members and leadershipParticipate in regular leadership meetings and periodic check-ins (including quarterly travel to Golden, CO)Ensure transparency and accountability across the organizationQualifications:Experience in roofing, metal fabrication, or exterior construction (commercial and/or residential)Proven management or general management experienceStrong financial and operational acumenAbility to lead through change and assume full business ownership responsibilitiesValid drivers licenseBenefits:Medical, dental, and vision insurance (company-subsidized)401(k) eligibility after six months15 days of PTO accrued annuallyCompany computer for business useCompany truck access for business useWhy This Role?This is a rare opportunity to step into a true owner-replacement General Manager role, lead a profitable and growing business, and build long-term value within a broader platform.
