Structural Engineer

Structural Engineer – Heavy Industrial Focus Location: Lakeland, FL Status: Immediate Hire A well-established engineering firm specializing in heavy industrial facilities is seeking a Structural Engineer with strong technical expertise and a collaborative mindset. This role involves working on multiple projects simultaneously, interfacing with multidisciplinary teams, and delivering high-quality structural solutions for industrial clients. Key Responsibilities Perform structural analyses using hand calculations and software tools Develop finite element models and interpret FEA results Design steel structures and heavy foundations Prepare and review technical reports, drawings, and vendor documentation Conduct field inspections and gather site data Lead structural discipline efforts and act as engineer-of-record Support proposals and front-end-loading (FEL) studies Manage budgets, schedules, and communicate project status Qualifications Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering PE license highly preferred (or ability to obtain within 6–12 months) Minimum 6 years of experience in heavy industrial design Expertise in steel, concrete, shallow/deep foundations Proficient in STAAD, RISA-3D, AutoCAD; Revit is a plus Skilled in finite element modeling, dynamic/modal/time history analysis Strong understanding of structural codes and standards Ability to work independently with limited project data Benefits Work on complex, high-impact industrial projects Collaborate with mechanical, electrical, process, and piping teams Be part of a growing firm with a reputation for “outside-the-box” solutions Enjoy a flexible, family-oriented culture with low turnover Opportunities for growth as the company expands across the Southeast #J-18808-Ljbffr
