PCB Repair / Debug TechnicianMemphis, TNMonday – Friday | 40 hours/week + overtime as neededPay: $35/hourOverviewWe are seeking a highly skilled PCB Repair / Debug Technician to support the transfer and ramp-up of multiple high-volume SMT production lines from our Mexico facility to Memphis. This role will play a critical part in establishing advanced board-level debug and true component-level repair capabilities for complex server and data center hardware.This is not a board-swap or tester-only position. We are specifically seeking technicians who can diagnose failures down to the component level and perform precise soldering and rework to recover high-value assemblies.Candidates who are open to short-term travel to our Mexico facility (approximately 6–8 weeks) to learn existing processes prior to equipment relocation will be strongly preferred. All travel, accommodations, and per diem will be fully covered. However, travel is not required for consideration.Key ResponsibilitiesPerform advanced board-level troubleshooting and component-level debug and repair on complex multilayer PCBAsDiagnose and repair failures across CPU, GPU, FPGA, ASIC, memory, and power subsystems without defaulting to full board replacementTroubleshoot high-speed digital, mixed-signal, and power distribution circuits using schematics, layout files, and diagnostic toolsUtilize advanced test equipment including oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, protocol analyzers, and power analyzers to isolate faults to the component levelPerform hands-on soldering and rework, including removal and replacement of fine-pitch components and BGAs using proper thermal profilesUse X-ray and other inspection methods to validate solder joints and rework qualityAnalyze POST codes, BIOS logs, boundary scan results, and other diagnostics to pinpoint root causesConduct root cause failure analysis and identify trends to reduce recurring defects and improve yieldPartner closely with engineering to refine debug and repair methodologies for scalability and repeatabilityDevelop and maintain detailed debug guides, repair procedures, and diagnostic documentationTrack yield, repair cycle time, and failure trends to support continuous improvement initiativesSupport installation, validation, and optimization of SMT, test, and rework equipment during line transferEnsure strict adherence to ESD, safety, and quality standards when handling high-value electronic assembliesMentor junior technicians in component-level troubleshooting and soldering best practicesQualifications5+ years of experience in hands-on PCB repair and component-level troubleshootingProven ability to diagnose faults and repair boards at the component level (not just replace entire assemblies)Strong soldering and rework skills, including fine-pitch components and BGA reworkExperience with server, storage, networking, or other high-performance computing hardware preferredDeep understanding of board-level electronics, including power architecture and signal integrity fundamentalsExperience debugging DDR memory, PCIe interfaces, and high-speed interconnectsAbility to read and interpret complex schematics and PCB layout filesProficiency with oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and other electronic test equipmentExperience in SMT or high-volume electronics manufacturing environments strongly preferredTravel (Preferred, Not Required)Opportunity to travel to our Mexico facility for approximately 6–8 weeks to support knowledge transfer and process training prior to equipment relocationAll travel, lodging, and meals/per diem will be fully coveredCandidates who are unable or prefer not to travel will still be consideredWhy JoinBe a key contributor in standing up a major SMT manufacturing operation in MemphisWork with cutting-edge server and data center technologiesHigh-impact role with strong visibility to engineering and operations leadershipOpportunity to influence repair strategy and move away from costly board-level scrap
