Skilled in maintaining database security, integrity, availability, and performance while collaborating with infrastructure teams on network and system operations. Proven ability to monitor and respond to load spikes, validate OS and database-level configurations, and manage network changes affecting connectivity, throughput, and application stability. Experienced in ETL processes, SSRS reporting, PowerShell scripting, Windows Server administration, and troubleshooting across database, system, and network layers. Strong track record of coordinating with stakeholders and third-party vendors to ensure reliable delivery of mission-critical services.Technical Skills Database Platforms: MS SQL Server 2005/2008/2012/2016/2019Reporting: SSRS (SQL Server Reporting Services)ETL Tools: SSIS, custom T-SQL scripts, PowerShellDatabase Management: Backup & Recovery, Performance Tuning, Indexing, Data ModelingSecurity: Role-based access control, encryption, patch managementNetwork/Operations: Change management for network-impacting activities (maintenance windows, firewall/DNS/routing dependencies), connectivity troubleshooting (latency, packet loss, name resolution), baseline and spike monitoring (CPU/memory/disk/network throughput), coordination with network/infra teams to restore serviceMonitoring & Diagnostics: Performance counters, SQL wait stats, job/agent monitoring, log review and alert triage, root-cause analysis (RCA) supportTools: SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS), Profiler, Power BI (if applicable)Other: Vendor Financial Application Support, Remote User Support, Disaster Recovery Planning Database Administrator - Network/Operations Administer and maintain MS SQL Server databases ensuring security, integrity, high availability, and recoverability across production and non-production environments. Manage database feeds, integrations, and connectivity across enterprise systems; troubleshoot end-to-end connection issues spanning application, network, and database layers. Monitor system health and respond to load spikes by analyzing resource utilization (CPU/memory/disk/network), SQL wait statistics, blocking, and query performance; implement stabilizing actions and document findings. Perform database patching, upgrades, and performance tuning; optimize indexing strategies and maintenance plans to support SLA and uptime targets. Implement, test, and validate backup and disaster recovery procedures; participate in DR exercises and ensure runbooks reflect current network and system dependencies. Provide finance application configuration support to business users and coordinate incident resolution with software vendors and internal infrastructure teams. Develop and maintain operational and financial reports using SSRS; support ETL processes including data extraction, transformation, and loading for reporting and integrations. Additional Qualifications Experience working in collaborative, cross-functional environments (DBA, Network, Systems, and Application Support) Ability to manage multiple priorities including project work, change windows, and production support Experience in equipment leasing or financial services industry is a plus Familiarity with SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) Vendor financial applications support administration experience is a plus Knowledge, Skills And Abilities Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field 5+ years of experience in database administration, information technology, database architecture, or a related field Experience with Linux and Windows Server environments Working knowledge of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, routing/switching concepts) and how they impact database connectivity and application performance Ability to troubleshoot connectivity and performance issues using monitoring and diagnostics (e.g., Windows Performance Monitor/PerfMon, Wireshark) in partnership with Network/Systems teams Extensive experience with database technologies (MySQL, MS SQL, PostgreSQL Oracle, MongoDB) Experience with PowerShell scripting and writing business scripts involving DB loads and financial business processes.
