Low Voltage Technician

Install, troubleshoot, and repair low voltage systems including CCTV surveillance, security alarms, fire alarm systems, sensors, IDS (Intrusion Detection Systems), and telecommunication networks. Read and interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals to ensure precise system setup and maintenance. Manage cabling installation using power tools and hand tools while adhering to NEC (National Electrical Code) standards and safety protocols. Conduct system testing using remote access software and other diagnostic tools to verify proper operation of security and communication systems. Collaborate with construction teams during new builds or renovations to ensure seamless integration of low voltage infrastructure. Provide field service support by diagnosing issues on-site quickly and efficiently restoring system functionality. Assist in sales activities related to alarm system upgrades or new security solutions by explaining technical features to clients. Proven experience as a service technician specializing in low voltage systems or related electrical fields. Strong mechanical knowledge combined with electrical experience for installing and troubleshooting complex systems. Proficiency in computer networking, system design principles, and remote access software for managing security devices remotely. Familiarity with CCTV cameras, sensors, fire alarm systems, IDS (Intrusion Detection Systems), security systems, and surveillance technology. Ability to read schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals accurately. Skilled in the use of hand tools, power tools, cabling techniques, and construction practices aligned with NEC standards. Knowledge of telecommunication infrastructure including cabling practices for data transmission. Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently in field service environments. Valid experience with alarm system sales or client consultations is a plus. Strong understanding of locksmithing principles related to access control systems is desirable.
