Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Telemetry Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Shift Hours per Shift: 12 hours (6:45 AM - 7:15 PM), every other weekend Experience: 2 years of acute inpatient RN experience License: State Nursing License Certifications: BLS, NIHSS Must-Have: Epic experience Description: The Registered Nurse (RN) is accountable for the care of a group of patients. The RN focuses on safe, effective, patient- and family-centered care, customer satisfaction, and quality outcomes. The RN is responsible for assisting in maintaining a financially stable unit. This role promotes personal development with an emphasis on evidence-based practice and education. The RN supervises both licensed and non-licensed staff members. The RN applies the caring processes of the Kristin M. Swanson Model of Care. Responsibilities include assessing, developing, implementing, and evaluating the plan of care. The RN focuses on patient and family comfort, education, and satisfaction. The RN utilizes educational and professional experiences in delivering quality care. The RN also mentors and precepts staff. Job Responsibilities: Assessment: Performs assessments and reassessments as warranted by patient conditions and demonstrates ability to make sound independent decisions. Development & Implementation: Initiates, prioritizes, and implements the plan of care, and collaborates with the patient/family and interdisciplinary services. Evaluation: Monitors and documents responses to clinical interventions. Education: Facilitates, coordinates, provides, and evaluates education specific to patient and family needs during their stay and at discharge. Leadership: Delegates tasks to licensed and non-licensed personnel, acts as a mentor and preceptor, and fosters teamwork. Identifies opportunities for improvement, participates in quality and safety process improvement efforts, and complies with regulatory standards. Participation in the Practice Governance model is also required. Required Skills & Experience: Two years of acute care RN experience. Required Education: Nursing Diploma or Associate's Degree (ASN). Required Certifications & Licensure: Registered Nurse, BLS, NIHSS.
