This role ensures accurate tracking of: DonationsGrant Funding (sub, State and Federal)Compliance Reporting (including 2 CFR Part 200) Financial Records and InvoicesThe EA Financial Officer helps maintain strong internal controls so that “Every Arkansan can chase their God-given dream”.Duties and ResponsibilitiesThe following responsibilities serve as a general guide and are not exhaustive. The ultimate goal is to steward public and private funds in support of programs to help fulfill our vision: “Every Arkansan, chasing their God-given dreams.”Financial Operations & AccountingOversee day-to-day financial operations, including accounts payable, invoice processing, bill payments, reimbursements, and expense tracking.Ensure timely and accurate payment of vendors, contractors, and partners in accordance with organizational policies and grant requirements.Maintain accurate, complete, and auditable financial records in alignment with GAAP and nonprofit best practices.Reconcile bank accounts, credit cards, and grant-specific accounts on a monthly basis.Grant & Braided Funding ManagementTrack, allocate, and document expenditures across multiple funding sources, including individual donations, state grants, sub-grants, and federal awards.Manage braided funding models to ensure costs are properly allocated, allowable, and consistently documented across programs.Monitor grant budgets, spending rates, and remaining balances to support program planning and sustainability.Collaborate with program leadership to align financial activity with approved scopes of work and budgets.Revenue Tracking & CompliancePrepare regular financial reports for the CEO and COO, including budget-to-actual reports, cash flow summaries, and grant-specific financial statements.Support preparation and submission of required financial reports for state and federal grants, including FFRs and other funder-required documentation.Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, and private funding requirements, including Uniform Guidance (2 CFR Part 200).Support internal and external audits, monitoring visits, and site reviews by maintaining organized records and responding to requests.Budgeting & Financial PlanningAssist leadership in developing organizational and program-level budgets.Support financial forecasting and scenario planning across diverse funding streams.Provide analysis and recommendations to leadership to support sound financial decision-making.Records Management & Audit ReadinessMaintain organized digital and physical financial and grant records to ensure transparency and audit readiness.Implement and follow internal controls that safeguard organizational assets and ensure separation of duties.Support continuous improvement of fiscal policies, procedures, and documentation.Oversee documentation standards to ensure all financial transactions are properly supported, auditable, and compliant with funding requirements.Conduct periodic internal reviews of financial processes, grant expenditures, and reporting practices to maintain accuracy and transparency.Support audit readiness by maintaining strong control environments and proactively addressing audit findings or recommendations.Internal Controls & Financial IntegrityEnforce and continuously strengthen internal control systems to safeguard organizational assets and ensure financial integrity across all funding streams.Ensure policies are followed that proper segregation of duties, authorization protocols, and accountability in all financial transactions.Monitor compliance with internal controls and identify gaps or risks, implementing corrective actions as needed.Ensure all financial activities align with federal, state, and grant-specific requirements, including Uniform Guidance (2 CFR Part 200).Collaborate with leadership to strengthen organizational policies and promote a culture of accountability, transparency, and stewardship of funds.Collaboration & CommunicationWork closely with the CEO, COO, Program Directors, and Data staff to align financial management with program operations and reporting.Coordinate with external accountants, auditors, and technical assistance providers as needed.Communicate effectively on Slack and Email to coordinate with the EA Team and the Finance office in Conway.QualificationsThe minimum qualifications required to successfully perform this job are as follows:Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.Demonstrated experience in nonprofit financial management.Experience managing multiple funding sources, including government grants.Strong understanding of budgeting, financial reporting, and compliance requirements.High attention to detail, accuracy, and documentation.Working conditionsThis role is primarily office-based and focused on detailed financial work, but it is not isolated. The Financial Officer works closely with leadership and program staff to support grant-funded operations, braided funding, and organizational financial accountability.The position requires strong attention to detail, the ability to manage multiple deadlines, and flexibility during reporting periods, audits, or funding cycles. Some weeks may require extended hours to meet compliance or reporting requirements.You’ll spend most days working at a computer reviewing financial records, reports, and documentation, while also communicating financial information clearly. Accuracy, integrity, and steady follow-through are essential, as this role stewards public and private funds entrusted to advance the mission.Occasional meetings, trainings, or audits may require schedule adjustments. This role is well-suited for someone who values order, accountability, and purpose-driven work.Physical requirementsThis role primarily involves desk & computer work with once a week travel to the Finance office in Conway. You should be able to sit or stand for extended periods and manage multiple communication tools comfortably.Expected HoursFull-time, 40 hours per week.
