10,000 Sign On Bonus RN Number of beds on unit: 35 Patient population (age, diagnosis, specifics about unit): The Observation Unit is a 35-bed unit that provides acute care for issues ranging from cardiac, to general surgery, to behavioral health. These patients receive holistic care that reflect the values and mission of Carle Foundation Hospital. Nurse to Patient ratio: 1:5-6 The Observation unit is a fast-pace, team-oriented unit. We work closely with our physician partners and ancillary team members to achieve the best outcomes for our patients. We have a robust Partnership Committee that meets monthly. We have a unit-based educator, 2 nurse supervisors, charge nurses and a discharge nurse. Frequent nursing skills/equipment used: Foley/IV/NG insertions, Nursing prioritization, IV pumps, Lift equipment, SCDs, Telemetry monitoring, Patient connection Certifications: BLS within 30days RN License upon Hire , Education: Nursing Diploma , Work Experience: RN Performs all responsibilities and duties required by unit as specific to the scope of service. Maintains up-to-date and accurate documentation of nursing care provided to assure the integration of information for use by the healthcare team. Completes initial assessment upon patient admission and develops appropriate plan of care in accordance with unit standards and that is based on patient and family needs. Implements plan of care, nursing interventions, and patient care procedures. Modifies plan of care based upon continuous evaluation. Communicates with others directly and in private when necessary to resolve issues. Assess IV sites every 4 hours.
