Driver/Farm Hand

Overview: We are seeking a dedicated Driver/Farm Hand to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for agriculture and a willingness to work in various aspects of farm operations. Responsibilities: - Drive an 18-foot Isuzu truck to Portland 3-4 times/week - Perform all deliveries and pickups throughout Portland area - Keep delivery vehicle clean - Lead person on set-up, planting, watering, fertilizing weeding and harvesting high tunnels - Operate and maintain irrigation systems to ensure proper watering of crops - Operate and maintain farm machinery for various tasks - Help manage greenhouse operations year-round - Spray crops when necessary - Help distribute beneficial insects and nematodes - Project when crops are ready for harvest - Follow and supervise food safety and farm safety practices - Help maintain all farm records: actions, harvest and food safety - Help maintain farm infrastructure: mowing, weed-eating, cleaning, etc. - Keep all growing and packing areas as clean as possible - Assist with packing produce, when needed - Safety committee chairperson -Work year-round, 30-45 hours/week. (More hours spring-fall, less in winter) Must be available Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday mornings. Other hours are flexible Qualifications: - Must have a good driving record and a current Oregon Driver's License - Positive Attitude - Good eye-hand coordination - Has common sense and problem-solving skills - Proficiency in operating a tractor and other farm machinery - Must be able to operate a pallet jack - Experience working in a greenhouse setting is a plus - Must be able to lift and carry 25 pounds - English-speaking This position offers the opportunity to work in a dynamic agricultural environment with diverse responsibilities.
