Quantum Systems Stability & Sensitivity Engineer

Overview In this role you will support the setup and maintenance of room-temperature electronics racks for quantum hardware test environments. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to bring up instruments, debug issues, and ensure reliable lab operations. You will apply Python-based automation and network know-how to streamline measurements and configurations. ResponsibilitiesAssemble, cable, label, and maintain room-temperature electronics racks for lab instrumentation and test infrastructureInstall and configure rack-mounted instruments, power distribution, RF hardware, cabling, patch panels, and networked equipment per proceduresOperate lab tools with ESD and safety practicesSupport rack bring-up and first-line debug for instrumentation, RF signal paths, and software-controlled setupsUse Python 3.x scripts and libraries to support instrument control, automation, data collection, and troubleshootingAssist with network configuration and connectivity checks, leveraging DHCP and networking best practices for lab instrumentationRepresent and embody Microsoft Culture and Values Key requirementsMaster's Degree in Physics, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field OR Bachelor's Degree in Physics, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field AND 2+ years technical engineering experience OR equivalent experienceAbility to meet security screening requirements (Microsoft Cloud Background Check)Citizenship verification for export-controlled information accessattention to detailcollaborationsafety-consciousnessRF hardware and cablinglab instrumentation and test setupnetwork configuration for lab equipment
