Our products are in use worldwide in commercial and military aircraft, lifesaving medical devices, weapon systems, inflight entertainment, power systems, and countless commercial, industrial & computer applications. Our facility is environmentally controlled, engineered for manufacturing flexibility, includes dedicated assembly labs for isolated program management, and a cleanroom facility. With dedicated professionals and assemblers regularly operating two full shifts, ISC operates with the most current high-speed tooling, material handling, and test equipment.
Job Overview
The Quality Engineer is responsible for ensuring product quality, compliance, and customer satisfaction across manufacturing operations for interconnect solutions. This role will support the Quality Management System (QMS), drive root cause analysis, and lead corrective actions while partnering closely with Manufacturing, Engineering, and Supply Chain.
This position is highly customer-facing and will play a key role supporting strategic customers, ensuring responsiveness to quality issues, managing deviations, and maintaining strong relationships with customer quality teams.
What You'll Do:
Customer & Cross-Functional Quality Support
Serve as the primary interface with customer quality teams, addressing deviations, source inspections, and quality concerns
Partner with Manufacturing, Engineering, and Supply Chain to lead quality-related activities and issue resolution
Drive timely responses to customer concerns and ensure high levels of customer satisfaction
Quality Systems & Compliance
Support and maintain the Quality Management System (QMS) in compliance with ISO, AS9100, FAA, FDA, or other regulated standards
Participate in internal and external audits and ensure adherence to customer requirements
Ensure proper implementation of customer flow-down requirements
Problem Solving & Continuous Improvement
Lead root cause investigations using 8D, 5 Whys, and Fishbone methodologies
Drive corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) and ensure effectiveness
Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives across manufacturing processes
Manufacturing Quality & Operations Support
Evaluate production issues, non-conformances, and customer complaints to improve product performance
Support MRB activities and disposition processes
Use ERP and internal systems to track quality metrics and drive data-based decisions
New Product & Process Support
Support APQP activities and product introductions as needed
Ensure quality requirements are defined and met throughout the product lifecycle
Must-Have Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality, or related technical field (or equivalent hands-on experience)
3+ years of experience in Quality Engineering within a manufacturing environment
Experience working in a regulated industry (e.g., aerospace, automotive, medical, food, or industrial manufacturing)
Familiarity with ISO or similar quality standards (i.e. FAA, FDA, etc.)
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to apply structured methodologies
Ability to work cross-functionally and communicate effectively across teams
Bonus Points If You Have:
Experience with AS9100 / AS9102 standards
Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement principles
Experience with ERP systems for quality tracking
Background in audits (internal or external)
Experience with RCCA, 8D, 5 Why analysis in a manufacturing environment
