Company OverviewAt Performance Drone Works (PDW), we’re at the forefront of creating custom small unmanned aerial systems (sUAS) for the modern warfighter. PDW is proudly American owned, with all design, engineering, and manufacturing of our products taking place domestically.Role - This role is a 12 month contract (1099) role.PDW is seeking a highly skilled Senior Unity3D Developer to join our team, contributing to our Simulation Engine. The ideal candidate will thrive in an innovative and fast-paced work environment, have excellent critical thinking skills, and will play a pivotal role in advancing our simulation capabilities and expanding our existing architecture to support new simulatedhardware.ResponsibilitiesDesign, develop, and maintain high-performance Unity3D applications with a focus on real-time simulations.Implement advanced computer graphics techniques, including shaders and real-time 3D rendering.Develop and optimize physics-based simulations for accuracy and performance.Integrate video streaming concepts into Unity applications for real-time and recorded content delivery.Implement and manage networking features using UDP/TCP protocols for real-time communication.Create custom tools and extensions within the Unity Editor to enhance development workflows.Utilize threading and concurrency concepts to optimize performance across platforms.Expand existing architectures to support new simulated hardware.Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including designers, artists, and other developers, to achieve project goals.Continuously identify and implement performance improvements and optimizations.RequirementsMinimum of 5 years of experience in Unity3D development, with a focus on game development and simulation.Expertise in C# as the primary programming language, with a strong grasp of advanced concepts such as memory management, asynchronous programming, delegates, events, and Streams.Strong knowledge of computer graphics, including shaders and optimization techniques.Proficiency in developing and optimizing physics-based simulations.Experience with networking protocols, particularly UDP and TCP, for real-time applications.Familiarity with video streaming concepts and their integration into Unity3D applications.Experience in extending and customizing the Unity Editor to enhance development workflows.Deep understanding of threading concepts and multi-threaded application development.Proven experience in developing and optimizing applications for Android mobile devices.Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Game Development, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.ITAR RequirementIn compliance with International Traffic Arms Regulations (ITAR), candidates must be U.S. Citizens, U.S. Permanent Residents (Green Card holders), or individuals granted asylee/refugee status as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3).Commitment to InclusivityPDW is an equal opportunity employer that upholds all federal and state non-discrimination laws.
