Outline of Duties: Metal Stamping die background Experience with heavy presses, blank, transfer, and progressive dies - repairing and maintaining. A-surface end products. I.e. Large products, exposed panels. Maintenance skills: Welding (stick & Tig preferred). Analytical skills Mechanical skills Math & Computer skills Tool Room equipment knowledge (mills, lathes, grinders, drill presses). Physical demands: must be able to move objects and use abdominal and lower back muscles to provide support over time without fatigue. Constant movement and use of limbs; this position requires good manual dexterity, coordination, and stamina. Performs other duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications: 3 years tool & die experience Class-A experience Tool & Die, Die Maker, Die Setter, Tooling, Tool Room, Machinist, Machining Metal Stamping die background Experience with heavy presses, blank, transfer, and progressive dies - repairing and maintaining. surface end products. HS diploma or GED Preferred Qualifications: Tool & Die, Die Maker, Die Setter, Tooling, Tool Maker, Tool Room, Machinist, Machining Automotive die background (3+ years) Journeyman or apprenticeship card Draw die repair: taking damaged die and using techniques such as heat raising or welding and then finishing by hand In-Press Troubleshooting: Splits, buckles, slivers, distortion Draw bead repair Scrap fall troubleshooting Die Timing, Die setting Steel and aluminum end-product experience Nest panel to the lower die and scrap cutters Die spotting.
