Shift Supervisor - Phoenix

About us: Drug Plastics is a competitive, growing company that wants people who are eager to share their knowledge, talent, and experiences.We are the premier manufacturer of bottles and closures for medicinal, wellness, and lifestyle products.About the Position:Monday thru Friday2:00pm - 10:30pmMay have mandated overtimeFull Time employees receive Medical, Dental and Vision benefitsPaid Sick, Vacation, and Holiday timeSome Essential Responsibilities Include:Prepare for startup of the shift by meeting with and reviewing upcoming activity with off-going shift supervisor.Attend shift change meetings and issue work assignments and priorities in a timely manner.Review and approve the hours worked by employees on the shift on a daily basis.Complete required production reports.Understand and be able to effectively use Material Safety Data Sheets.Perform any and all other work as assigned by management personnel.Supervise all production employees to insure that all quality and production standards are maintained.Promote positive employee relations by motivating, training, evaluating and communicating with employees.Insure that production areas are free from hazards and employees are working safely.Attend priority meetings prior to and after the shift change to discuss schedule changes, "down" equipment, quality issues and other miscellaneous items.Communicate with employees regarding job assignments, specific problems encountered on prior shift(s), quality and safety issues and general business events.Meet with Material Handlers to review materials requirements for the shift, upcoming changes and address issues of concern.Coach and motivate employees to improve morale, job performance and quality.Identify and address with Plant Manager and HR support any concerns amongst shift personnel regarding bullying, intimidation, or harassment of any kind.Minimum Qualifications:High School graduate or GED. A college degree and prior experience working in a manufacturing environment is highly desirable.Must be a team leader with excellent organization, communication and supervisory skills.Computer experience is highly desirable.Drug Plastics & Glass Company Inc. is an equal opportunity employer.
