Hydraulics Engineering Designer6 months contract with possible extnHouston, TX (Onsite)JOB SCOPE:Reporting to the Engineering Manager, this position would be responsible for supporting engineering activities related to design, testing, and optimization of Surface Pumping Units within Weatherford.DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:• Perform duties as an Engineering team member to develop and optimize Oilfield equipment and peripherals used for pumping oil from an oil well.• Prepare / co-ordinate detailed design including CAD data, drawings, and related manufacturing data.• Prepare relevant schematics and piping diagrams.• Interact with engineering teams in other international locations as part of a Project team.• Perform and/or co-ordinate relevant lab tests to validate designs.• Assemble prototypes and perform function testing.• Provide support to manufacturing personnel to clarify design intent and update design as needed.• Liaison with Vendors as needed to provide Engineering support.• Travel to various field locations as needed to support field trials.• Understand Weatherford Quality policies and comply with all requirements of the Quality Systems Manual, Operating and Technical Procedures, and Workplace Instructions.• Must understand and comply with all safety rules and company policies of Weatherford.• Perform various other duties and activities as assigned by supervisor within the physical constraints of the job.SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:Essential: • 5-7 years of related experience. Related experience includes various facets of hydraulic system design, pumps,valves, motors and skid packages.• Hands on experience developing test setup and performing hydraulic systems testing.• Experience with control systems and automation equipment. Able to troubleshoot electro-hydraulic systems.• Experience developing hydraulic and electrical schematics and related wiring and piping diagrams.• Associates / bachelor's degree in engineering or engineering technology. Relevant experience can be countedtowards education level.• Willing to travel locally and internationally as needed to support business needs.Desirable:• Working experience in 3D modeling, drawing generation and Engineering Change notices.• Working experience in a manufacturing or testing facility.• Working experience on oilfield equipment.
