Engineering Project Manager

JOB DESCRIPTIONA client of Insight Global is looking for a Project Engineering Manager (Technical Project Manager) for a permanent, direct-hire position that sits onsite in Boise, ID or Houston, TX. This Project Manager will be responsible for working cross functionally with internal/external stakeholders, Site Engineers, Project Schedulers, and numerous subcontractors to ensure the project is delivered on-time and meet quality standards while maintaining compliance with state/federal safety standards. The ideal candidate will have experience managing Engineering teams within the Process Industry (Oil/Gas, Water/Wastewater, etc.) This Project Engineering Manager (Technical PM) must have a strong Engineering background and serve as the SME when communicating with customers and other internal stakeholders. This is an excellent opportunity to join a company that is growing rapidly in the US and globally.Key Responsibilities:Engineering and design execution for global water and wastewater treatment projectsAct as Project Engineering Manager, performing engineering functions under direction of Head of EngineeringSupport development of engineering talent through mentoring and knowledge sharingEnsure engineering is delivered accurately, on time, and within budgetSupport development and implementation of engineering procedures to improve quality and efficiencyPerform value engineering, technical analyses, and feasibility studiesProvide guidance on process optimization and technology selectionReview and develop process designs from proposals/sales teamOversee P&IDs and all stages of engineering/design based on customer requirementsManage third-party design and 3D modeling vendorsEnsure compliance with customer specifications for equipment and materialsSupervise equipment and piping sizing, calculations, datasheets, and technical documentationConduct technical reviews of vendor quotations for complianceReview fabrication drawings from external vendors for accuracy and requirements alignmentCollaborate with PMs, QA/QC, fabricators, and construction teamsOversee preparation of general arrangement, piping, skid, and module drawingsInterface with clients on technical matters and support design justificationsParticipate in internal and external design reviewsCoordinate across multiple engineering disciplinesSupport commissioning activities and manage technical aspects of warranty claimsEnsure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations throughout project lifecycleREQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:-7+ years of experience leading Engineering teams-5+ years of hands-on engineering experience (Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical, Controls/Automation, or Structural/Civil)-Process Industry experience (Oil & Gas, Water/Wastewater, or similar)-Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or similarNICE TO HAVE SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:-PE and/or PMP-Oracle Primavera P6 experience-Proficiency in MS Project and Excel-Familiarity with Micron's ID1 Project-Semiconductor industry experienceCompensation: Ranges from $160,000 - $180,000 a year annual salary. Bonus opportunities are available. Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education.
