This position directly supports park leadership with efficient operation of the department which provides a positive guest experience.We are currently looking for a:Adventureland Park - Aquatics Senior SupervisorRoles & Responsibilities:Supervisory Duties:Supervise the daily operations of the park operations team and any other assigned departmentsLead by example, attitude, and as a representation of Adventureland's core valuesInspire operators by creating a positive and energetic atmosphere where safety and guest satisfaction are top prioritiesAct as an approachable mentor and coach to all assigned LifeguardsEnsure compliance with company and industry best practices, policies, and procedures to create a safe and productive environment for colleagues and guests.Become knowledgeable of performing the essential duties of all assigned park operations positions and backfill these positions when neededParticipate in all aspects of supervision of assigned employees, including hiring, orientation, training, ride operations, performance coaching, and discipline.Ensure that all required meal and other breaks are being given in accordance with Iowa lawAssist with team scheduling and timekeeping activitiesDepartmental Duties:Maintain a comprehensive knowledge of park attractions and safety procedures, assisting or operating rides and maintaining a safe aquatic environment when necessary.Listen to guest feedback and complaints, communicating them to the respective department managers.Provide coverage for Lifeguards breaks and monitor communication channels for additional assistance.Provide direct support to Lifeguards by conducting rounds throughout the park to address their needs.Enforce Park policies, restrictions, and recommendations to ensure guest safety.Remain calm and composed during emergency situations, exuding professionalism while adhering to all standard operating procedures.Maintain constant vigilance to proactively identify potential hazards and informs park leadership of any concernsProtect guest belongings, handle lost and found items and cooperate with other departments to enhance the guest experience.Promptly notify security or park operators of any injuries or emergencies.Conduct audits of Lifeguards to ensure safe operations and fulfill additional duties as assigned.All other duties assigned by leadershipEducation and Experience:No education requirements for this position2-3 years of previous work experience in the Rides or Aquatics departments is required. Previous ride operation experience from other Amusement/Theme Park employers will also be considered.2+ years of previous supervisory experience preferredMust hold or be willing to quickly obtain Jeff Ellis and Associates Lifeguard Instructor CertificationCertification in advanced Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR), First Aid and Automated External Defibrillator (AED) within 1 month of employment Must keep certification currentLanguage: Ability to read, write, and speak fluent English Spanish or other bilingual language skills are a plus.Requirements:Must be at least 18 years of age to comply with Iowa Child Labor LawsAbility to work flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, open to closeMust have reliable transportation to and from your scheduled shiftMust possess a valid driver's license and a good driving recordAbility to comply with all uniform policiesMust possess exceptional customer service skills, with an ability to resolve questions, problems, issues, and concerns in a positive and professional mannerMust possess a safety-oriented mindset and be fully committed to enforcing all DOSH, Ellis, and all other regulations, policies, and proceduresAbility to inspire, motivate, and successfully lead a large number of LifeguardsMust be able to speak with guests directly when other operations leadership is not availableAbility to handle high-pressure situations, meet the demands of constant deadlines, and coordinate multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.Must possess strong written and verbal communication skillsAbility to follow direction, multi-task, and work as part of a fast-paced teamPhysical Requirements:Ability to stand, walk, and remain on feet for majority of the workdayAbility to remain sedentary for periods of time, while using a computerAbility to frequently stoop, twist, kneel, bend, squat, or reach above shouldersMust be able to meet all program requirements and successfully pass the Ellis & Associates lifeguard training programAbility to aid and physically move guests of varying heights and weightsAbility to carry, push, pull, lift, and hold objects weighing 30 pounds or moreAbility to climb or descend stairs for some of the rides and attractionsenvironmentsWorking Conditions:This role will predominantly be based outdoors in the park environmentFrequent exposure to water of varying depths and pool chemicalsConstant exposure to the variable outside temperatures, including high heat, cold, direct sun, humidity, dust, rain, snow, ice, and other weather conditionsSubject to frequent interruptions, constant repetitive motion, high noise levels, flashing lights, and heavily populated environmentsTeam member benefits:Working at Adventureland is about making people happy!
