Individuals must be able to perform work assignments at the Line Mechanic level includingtransmission work, work emergency, and planned overtime when the need exists; acquire a basicknowledge of the Company Safety Manual; have the mechanical ability to use hand/power tools, andequipment pertinent to line construction and maintenance; and have the ability to climb and work onpoles, ladders, and other elevated structures.POSITION DESCRIPTION:Position will require working both indoors and outdoors, and at times under adverse weather conditions.Selected candidate must meet the physical requirements as required by medical placementexamination(s); may be required to work a four, ten-hour day work schedule; will be designated a shiftworker with Saturday as a work day; and must live within 30 minutes of the reporting location.This is a Union position and qualified Local 455 WMECO employees will be given first consideration.Individuals must be able to perform work assignments at the Line Mechanic level including transmissionwork, work emergency, and planned overtime when the need exists; acquire a basic knowledge of theCompany Safety Manual; have the mechanical ability to use hand/power tools, and equipment pertinentto line construction and maintenance; and have the ability to climb and work on poles, ladders, and otherelevated structures.The salary range for this position starts at Step $59.78 and progresses in accordance with the union contract.
