Machinist - 1706USA:TX:Odessa | Shop & Field Service Support | Full-TimeDescriptionSummary: The Machinist will have precision machining of pump parts including, rings, bushings, sleeves, and shafts, and the ability to handle.001 T.I.R. tolerances on finished products.Responsibilities of the Machinist include, but are not limited to:Review samples, drawings or instructions to understand specifications of outputPlan the sequence of necessary actions for the completion of a jobTake measurements and mark material for cutting or shapingSelect appropriate machines (e.g. lathes) and position or load material for a jobDetermine and program size of batches, speed of machine etc.Monitor machine while working to adjust the feed, maintain temperature and identify issuesCheck output to ensure consistency with specifications and discard defectsKeep records of approved and defective units or final productsPerform routine machine maintenance and repair minor damagesQualifications of the Machinist include, but are not limited to:Proven experience as machinistExperience in using and/or programming manual, semi-automated or automated tools and machines (lathes, grinders etc.)Ability to use precision tools to take accurate measurementsKnowledge of the properties of metal and other materialAbility to read blueprints, schematics and manualsGood at math with analytical abilitiesPhysical stamina and strength to lift heavy itemsHigh school diploma or equivalent; completion of vocational training or an apprenticeship will be an assetAdditional Information:Physical Demand: Ability to lift up to 50 lbsWorking Conditions: Shop environmentTraining/Certifications: N/AShift Time/Overtime: Day ShiftTravel: N/AEducation: High School Diploma or GEDDXP is always looking for individuals who want to join a team of employees who have the desire to achieve remarkable accomplishments together.
