Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Progressive Care Unit Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Shift Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum of 2 years acute care RN experience License: Registered Nurse license Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS Must-Have: Epic experience Description: A professional nurse is an individual accountable for the care of a group of patients. The Registered Nurse (RN) focuses on safe and effective patient and family-centered care. Customer satisfaction and quality outcomes are critical in this role. The RN is responsible for assisting in maintaining a financially stable unit. Promoting personal development with an emphasis on evidence-based practice is essential. The RN supervises licensed and non-licensed staff members. The RN has the responsibility to assess, develop, implement, and evaluate the plan of care using the caring processes outlined in the Kristin M. Swanson Model of Care. Focusing on patient and family comfort, education, and satisfaction is vital. The RN applies educational and professional experiences in the delivery of quality care. Mentoring and precepting staff is also part of the RN's responsibilities. Key responsibilities include: - Performing assessments and reassessments as warranted by patient condition. - Making sound independent decisions. - Initiating, prioritizing, and implementing the plan of care. - Collaborating with patients, families, and interdisciplinary services. - Utilizing resources appropriately to support organizational and patient needs. - Monitoring and documenting responses to clinical interventions. - Facilitating education specific to patient and family needs. - Delegating tasks to licensed and non-licensed personnel. - Functioning as a mentor/preceptor. - Encouraging and facilitating teamwork. - Identifying opportunities for improvement and communicating effectively. - Participating in quality, safety, and service process improvement efforts. - Complying with regulatory standards. - Engaging in the Practice Governance model.
