Job Title: Information Security Engineer IILocation: Chandler, AZ (2600 S Price Rd) - preference, RTM is therePhoenix, AZ (Rose Garden)/ Minneapolis, MN/ West Des Moines, IA/ Dallas, TX/ Charlotte, NCDescription:In this contingent resource assignment, you will participate in low to moderately complex initiatives within Information Security Engineering and identify opportunities for process improvements. You will review and analyze basic to tactical security engineering challenges that require research, evaluation, and selection of alternatives related to low-to-medium risk deliverables.You will present recommendations to resolve issues, exercise independent judgment, and build your understanding of security functions, policies, procedures, and compliance requirements. The role also involves providing support and information to client personnel within Information Security Engineering.Role Overview:This role focuses on supporting core security engineering functions including vulnerability management, system hardening, IAM fundamentals, and monitoring support. The engineer will work in a process-driven environment, handling security tasks, documenting findings, and collaborating with IT teams to improve security posture and operational efficiency.Key Responsibilities:Participate in security engineering initiatives and identify process improvement opportunitiesReview and analyze security assignments, providing recommendations for resolutionSupport vulnerability management processes: validation, prioritization, remediation coordination, and exception documentationApply secure configuration and system hardening practices across Windows and Linux environmentsSupport IAM fundamentals including least privilege, MFA, and account lifecycle processesAssist with logging and monitoring activities, including log analysis and basic SIEM alert triageMaintain strong documentation and ticket management discipline (JIRA/Confluence)Collaborate with internal teams and communicate effectively with stakeholdersRequired Qualifications:2+ years of Information Security Engineering experience or equivalent (work, consulting, training, military, or education)Knowledge of secure configuration and system hardening (Windows/Linux)Basic networking fundamentalsExperience with vulnerability management processesUnderstanding of IAM fundamentals (least privilege, MFA, account lifecycle)Familiarity with logging/monitoring concepts and SIEM basicsStrong documentation, analytical, and communication skillsAbility to work in a structured, process-driven environmentPreferred Qualifications:Scripting experience (PowerShell, Python) for automation and reportingCloud security fundamentals (AWS, Azure, or GCP) or virtualization knowledgeFamiliarity with security tools (EDR, SIEM, vulnerability scanners)Understanding of security frameworks (CIS Controls, NIST, etc.)Process improvement mindset and ability to recommend efficienciesAdditional Details:Request Type: Contract USLabor Category: IT United StatesDuration: 26 weeksReason for Contractor: Back-fill existing headcount
