Transport Coordinator- Patient Transport- Casual- Variable Shifts

Job Description:PURPOSE OF JOB: Manage the movement of patients within the Hospital according to policies and procedures in an efficient and safe manner through the use of appropriate transport vehicles and elevators. Schedule escorts to complete all transportation requests.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:1. Acts as Coordinator of the Patient Transport department2. Takes requests from hospital departments for transportation of patients, visitors, and equipment3. Stay current on hospital policies and processes to effectively train associates when necessary.Ensures all equipment used for transport of patients (stretchers, wheelchairs) is clean and in good working order. Communicate repair needs of equipment to the patient transport manager in a timely manner.Job Qualifications:QUALIFICATIONS:Education: High School diploma or equivalentExperience: Three months experience with patient transport or equivalentOther Skills: Good communication skills, comfort in using computer, ability to work with all age groups, must be able to ride in elevators and manage stairs
