Precis has been repeatedly recognized as a Best Place to Work by the Philadelphia Business Journal.Position Overview:The BIM Coordinator supports the Ambler, Pa., office and is responsible for the implementation, coordination, and execution of Building Information Modeling (BIM) processes across architectural and engineering projects. This role ensures the accurate development, coordination, and integration of 3D models and digital documentation in accordance with project requirements, firm standards, and industry best practices. The BIM Coordinator acts as a technical lead and liaison among project teams, consultants, and clients to support efficient and effective model-based workflows.The ideal candidate will create and maintain BIM and/or 3D models for project-specific requirements on a wide range of projects. The BIM Coordinator will be a key member of the architectural and engineering design teams for each project within their portfolio. Additionally, this position will require candidates to think outside the box and bring a creative and collaborative approach to each project.Key Responsibilities:BIM Coordination + Project SupportCoordinate and manage BIM models across disciplines for assigned projects from schematic design through construction administration.Establish and maintain project BIM execution plans (BEPs), modeling standards, and workflows.Become familiar with and assist in implementing graphical standards and model drafting procedures to ensure accuracy, consistency, and compliance with firm and project standards.Support project teams with model setup, work-sharing, templates, families, and project-specific standards.Model Quality ControlReview models for compliance with LOD requirements, naming conventions, and file organization.Identify and resolve model issues related to geometry, data integrity, and coordination.Ensure models support documentation, schedules, quantities, and downstream uses as required.Participate in project coordination meetings with architects and engineers.Collaboration + CommunicationServe as a primary BIM point of contact for project teams and consultants.Participate in coordination meetings and technical BIM discussions.Assist project managers and design leaders with technical BIM planning and problem-solving.Provide guidance and support to project staff on BIM best practices and workflows.Training + Standards DevelopmentAssist in the development, documentation, and enforcement of BIM standards, templates, and libraries.Assist in developing/maintaining content libraries and workflows under supervision of the BIM Manager.Train and mentor staff in BIM tools, workflows, and coordination practices.Stay current with BIM technologies, software updates, and industry trends.Collaborate with the design team and other departments to identify goals and communicate procedural changes.Software + TechnologyUtilize BIM and coordination software including: Autodesk RevitAutodesk Construction Cloud (BIM 360)AutoCADAdditional tools such as Dynamo, Enscape, Lumion, or similar visualization/automation softwareCompetenciesAttention to detail and commitment to model accuracyAbility to manage multiple projects and prioritiesCollaborative mindset and team-oriented approachStrong technical aptitude with emerging digital toolsProactive and solution-focused attitudeQualificationsBachelor’s degree in architecture, engineering, construction management, or related field (or equivalent experience).3–7 years of professional experience working in a BIM‑based architectural or multidisciplinary environment; experience in architectural practice or design-focused firms a plus.Advanced proficiency in Autodesk Revit and AutoCAD.Strong understanding of BIM workflows, model coordination, and construction documentation.Experience with clash detection, model-based coordination, and construction-phase BIM support a plus.Knowledge of industry standards including LOD, ISO 19650 principles, or client BIM requirements a plus.Familiarity with Dynamo scripting or BIM automation a plus.Experience working with multidisciplinary consultant models.Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.Strong verbal, interpersonal, and written communication skills.Prior experience mentoring or training staff a plus.Why Join Precis?Be part of a collaborative, innovative team that values your ideas and expertise.Shape growth for a respected, specialized engineering and architecture firm.Enjoy a flexible, supportive work environment and competitive compensation package.Equal Opportunity EmployerPrecis provides equal employment opportunities (EEO) to all employees and applicants for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age, disability, or genetics.
